Q: Is Kinetic Steam Works a non-profit?
A: No, not yet. However, we have a fiscal sponsor(!), which means that your donation will be tax deductible. The Crucible is very kindly filling this role. We're still a small arts organization, growing organically, and before we can realistically seek a non-profit 501(c)(3) status, we need to grow larger and attract competent, interested board members.

Q: Generally, what will you use my donation for?
A: Ether, the squiffier the better! And, of course, MECHANICAL STEAM POWERED OWLS!

Q: What will you really use my donation for, generally?
A: Fostering steam powered kinetic art projects, hooking up ideas + artists + materials, steam engine fuel, water, water storage, boiler maintenance, piston oil, fusible plugs, fire extinguishers, walking beam engine castings, drive belts, steam lines, transportation costs, site glass, hydraulic wood splitter rentals, etcetera.

KSW is a year round endeavor. We're in the process of building a solid community and making antique equipment work well and play nicely with art. Anything you can do to help with the costs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
